A Short History of Digital Television
On October 15, 2007, President George W. Bush signed into law the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005. The act directed broadcasters and TV owners to switch from analog television signals to digital by January 1, 2020. In August 2015, that deadline was extended to June 12, 2021. DTV America will stop operating on January 1, 2020. Owners of non-digital devices that use antennas will need an external converter box or new device with a digital tuner by this date so they can continue watching broadcast television after the transition period ends.

How do I get it?
How do I get my device? All five of the MY5 TV devices are coming soon and will be available for purchase at your local retailers. You can also pre-order at www.mytv.tv or through your cable provider’s website, subject to availability. We’ll have plenty of models for you, with some coming in 2020 and the rest coming out later next year.
How much will it cost?
The only cost associated with activating your device is a one-time activation fee of $1. To activate your device, all you need to do is power it on and plug it into a power outlet.
An MY5 TV activation code will be issued by email upon activation, so make sure you’re prepared before powering up. You’ll need the activation code for all future use of your device including any playback, online content, or other functions related to your activated device.
