Geary worked as a journalist for over 10 years. She worked as a reporter for The Guardian from 2006 to 2011 when she covered a broad range of topics including technology media, technology as well as commercial. Geary joined Twitter as the Head of News Products in 2016. In that post, she was in charge of the team responsible for the development of the information product for Twitter and also its partnerships. She quit Twitter at the end of 2017 in order to join Medium as the Editor-in-Chief at OneZero.
In February of this year, Geary introduced that she had decided to leave Medium to “pursue various alternatives.”
Geary is currently as a Visiting Scholar at the campus of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
